The Royal Historical Society of Queensland and the Commissariat Store Museum function only with the generous assistance of our volunteers. The Society is always seeking volunteers. While membership is not a requirement to volunteer, all members are encouraged to take an active interest in the Society.
Opportunities for volunteers are wide and varied. Our volunteers guide visitors around the convict-built Commissariat Store Museum, manage the museum collection and create the museum displays, manage the Welsby Library, provide research assistance, produce our publications including the monthly Bulletin, the Queensland History Journal and various books, maintain our website and marketing channels, and provide general administrative assistance.
Our team of volunteers come from many different backgrounds and join us for a variety of reasons. All our volunteers make a fantastic contribution to the Society by preserving our past and promoting the history of Queensland.
Volunteering enquiries should be directed to RHSQ Administration and Museum Manager Ilona Fekete.
