Special event BOH – Ensemble in Residence 3.: Garden of Weeds

October 13 @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

$25 – $30

The Fragments Ensemble, together with the Commissariat Store invite you into their home for Brisbane Open House. This special concert will feature chamber music for soprano, clarinet and piano – performed by internationally acclaimed Brisbane musicians: Judit Molnar, Rianne Wilschut and Brieley Cutting. The concert program brings together a unique selection from serious and light-hearted compositions, including Leonard Bernstein’s comical musical masterpiece “I Hate Music” and the six fleeting and rather dated Clerihew Songs – a witty anecdote about a famous person – by English composer Paul Harris. Enjoy the pastoral scenes of Arnold Cooke’s song cycles “Three Songs of Innocence” and the engaging sheaf of five songs for soprano, clarinet and piano by Terence Greaves “A Garden of Weeds” Hear the beautifully melancholic songs from Hungary by Kodály and Kurtág, and the virtuosic Martinu: Sonatina for Clarinet and Piano.

Cost:$25 RHSQ members/$30 general public/U14 free. Ticket price includes concert, refreshments and museum access.
